Production diary
week 1-2
For this week i started the course late, which meant i felt a bit behind. In order to catch up i done some work in my own time to make sure i was at the same level as everyone else.
week 2-3
- We learnt about the different types of camera angles and shots that are used in different types of films, posters and adverts. We also went on to learn about the genre signifiers for example; The chicken and egg dilemma.
week 3-4
- We then went on to analyzing a still image taken from a particular film.We first learnt about how to analyse a still image and the types of analysis needed. This is taken from the word CLAMPS which stands for, costume. lighting, actors, make-up, props and setting. Once we knew what to include we then went on to analyzing some still images, and the effect they give us as an audience. We also included our knowledge from the camera shots and angles in this analysis.
week 4-5
- We started to learn about high and low budget films, and then went on to comparing them. We then started our preliminary task of creating a film opening of a certain genre which included specific things. We were told to include the shots; match on action, shot/reverse shot and 180 degree rule.
week 5-6
- We started to plan out our reincarnation of the opening scene from Juno Which we would film and edit in our groups. This included us creating a story board of the camera shots so we could base our filming from something. We then had to start filming the opening scene and started editing to make the final piece.
week 6-7
- This was our final week before half term and we had to try to get all the editing done, any work that needed doing up to date and to finish and incomplete work
